South Orissa Voluntary Action (SOVA), is a not for profit voluntary organization working to promote the best interest of disadvantaged communities since 1993. The organization having registered under society registration act 1860 adhere to the basic legal commitments of its staffs. The organization has a clear vision and mission to accomplish it. SOVA believes in its philosophy to be a part of the people we serve.

Our Vision
SOVA Visualises a healthy and self-reliant society, where excluded communities especially tribal women and children enjoy equal opportunities and rights with dignity and without any discrimination and exploitation.

Our Mission
To ensure that its primary stakeholders, excluded communities especially tribal women and children have equal and gender balanced access to their rights and enjoy equal opportunities in the spectrum of health, education, livelihood, governance and child rights.

Operational goals:

    With the aim to realize its mission SOVA has set itself the following operational goals:
  • Ensure protection and promotion of the rights of the children guaranteed by the Constitution of India and within broad framework of UNCRC-Survival, Development, Participation and Protection
  • Address gender disparity and work for the empowerment of women to better develop their economic condition
  • Ensure that the health of the community, children and women are best promoted through enhancing the service delivery system and community capacity building
  • Generate employment opportunities, promote employable skills and ensure food security
  • Ensure tribal participation in panchayat raj system
