The National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA) guarantees 100 days employment through a job card system. However, many rural farmers are illiterate and do not understand the paperwork, applications are difficult to access and vested interest groups create conflict.

Accessing and Strengthening NREGA

We conduct training sessions with village development committees and self-governing bodies to educate them on their right to employment and how to access it. So far, we've succeeded in helping hundreds of rural villagers access employment under NREGA and fight against vested interest groups to ensure they can work on their own local projects, without unfair competition.
