In Koraput, where the literacy rate is 36%, education is not a priority and school dropout rates are high.

In fact, 66% of students in the region drop out after class 5. Many parents insist their children work rather than learn. Children from these families spend their days driving domestic animals, collecting firewood, taking care of siblings, or making gravel. In the 185 villages where we work, 64 do not even have schools. For many schools that do exist, teachers either abuse their students or do not attend regularly.

We work to nourish children to a healthy school age, protect them against child labor and corporal punishment, improve the quality of their education, and advocate alongside them for their rights.
