We develop the capacity of the community in disaster risk management. We engage all members of the community in planning to respond quickly to natural and man-made disasters.

Our staff members are trained on disaster management and epidemic-control and are ready to mobilize when a disaster occurs. We've worked in partnership with the District Administration since 2007 to deal with diarrhea outbreaks, an anthrax epidemic and flash floods.

Financial Support and Labor

We contribute funds and labor for land reclamation, flood damage, repairing of schools, community centers and drinking water sources and fogging stagnant water.

Disaster Management Education

We are helping the community learn how they can prepare for disasters in advance and give them strategies for handling the hardships that arise. The training we provide enables community members to learn how to do it themselves when future events occur. Read a success story.

Epidemic Control

We also engage in disease control activities, where we set up health camps, such as our livestock camps, where we vaccinate animals against Foot and Mouth disease.
